have you ever painted on velvet before? my friends and i were talking about trying some stuff, but we werent sure how to go about it, and i figured if anyone i know has ever tryed it before or knew anything about it, it'd be you...

yeah, a little bit. You have to seal the material first - use a clear acrylic matte medium or gesso only on the parts you want to be painted. otherwise, you'll get fuzzies in your paint. Use acrylic paint - it's a lot brighter and easier to use on velvet. And if you're doing black light velvet stuff - I have used some awesome black light paint called Wildfire. It's kind of pricey, but the paint looks amazing.
