If you've ever seen League of Gentleman then you'll know that it's a bit of both.

Seriously though, League of Gentleman is a very dark comedy with an extremely disturbing under current. Then you have Coupling which is at the other end of the comedy spectrum. It'll be interesting to see how or if the two writers can mesh it together.

I've never seen 'League of Gentlemen'. Watched one eppy of the American version of 'Coupling'. It totally sucked.

I heard that US Coupling sucked but I loved the UK version. I'm not sure if LoG is everyones cup of tea, definitely worth at least one viewing though.
