Fic formatting

Hm. I've actually stopped writing in word type documents and gone back to textpad types -- word puts all sorts of invisible crap in it's documents that make it a pain to post, sometimes.

One way to minimize that is to save everything as RTF, not .doc. That removes some of the junk.

I also hand code my italics as I go, get rid of smart quotes and, when I post to LJ, I don't use the Rich Text interface (it's universally problematic).

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tips. I actually used to use wordpad and save as an RTF when I was writing a web page and had to do coding. I hadn't thought of trying it with my fic.

I already code my italics as I go, as well as formatting my scene breaks and whatnot. I've been having some trouble getting paragraphs to show up like I want them to, though, even in HTML mode.
