I stalked the University Radiology patient portal until the report appeared and then held my breath when opening it. I'll put the summary and findings below the cut
The good: Spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, aorta, lymph nodes all within normal limits. No "ascites" is noted which is good since that means there's not weird fluid in the abdomen which would indicate not so good results.
The "hmm": Kidneys: Occasional tiny cyst Not surprised since I've had kidney stones and a kidney infection more than a decade ago and start drinking water like a fish when I get a weird feeling in that general area
Bowel: Nondilated. There's nothing in the comments about that but evidently that's not great? Well, the gastro did want to do a combination alien butt probe and endoscopy so guess we'll be doing that. Google did make a passing mention about obstructions being possibly Crohn's which considering Dad's screwed up stomach and the nibblings both having Crohn's would track but I'm not going to make any google-diagnoses there.
The sorta good but still bleh: Liver: There are a couple of hypervascular lesions in the right lobe, the larger laterally measuring roughly 4 cm and demonstrating a delayed contrast enhancing central scar. Both of these lesions most likely represent focal nodular hyperplasia. A 1 cm hemangioma is also noted in the posterior superior right lobe. Fatty infiltration. Focal nodular hyperplasia is the less common kind of tumor but at least not likely cancer. Different sites imply that they're not likely to do much except watch for growth (so more scans in some months or so). If it starts to get too big, then they would do a minimally invasive thing to block supply and try to shrink it or if it's really misbehaving, they'd go in and surgically remove it. But not unless it gets bigger than 8cm. So guess I gotta get use to my belly lump.
Fortunately the report also noted Hepatic Vasculature: The hepatic veins and portal veins are patent. That means there's no blockage of blood flow to/from the liver.
The...hell? Questionable fibroid uterus and left hydrosalpinx, incompletely visualized. Well geez Louise I wasn't even complaining about THAT area. The way the summary at the end noted, they were probably wondering why I didn't present all doubled over and stuff. All the more reason to root for menopause to finally be here (still have a half a year to go before it's official). Having fibroids and a fucked up blocked fallopian tube explains why things suck EVER SO MUCH when I do have a period. Hopefully I don't have to do anything about that. Annoying.
So I'll see what the gastro has to say but thankfully no cancer is indicated.
