It is definately very frustrating/weird/difficult to be a parents confidant. I tried and very miserably failed with my mother when they split so I wish you ther best of luck in any situation in which the "norm" of parent/advisor,cryinsholder child/student,upsetconfused youth is found to be in reverse. You are altoghther a more caring person than I, in my opinion and, if you don't live with your dad it will probably be easier to deal with as it doesn't come on a day to day basis, atleast then you won't become numb/distant from his feelings. No matter how much they mean it's just hard. And I feel for you my friend
