It sounds quite wonderful, and believe me, there is a beauty to alone-ness. Though it get kinda lonely sometimes, it also makes you really think about the self and the things you really enjoy. Good luck experiencing both, and enojy the amount of movin you'll do in your life if you do. ;P

i think that a real sign of growth and maturity is being able to experience the beauty in solitude and self-reflection. it requires the ability to be comfortable with the self awareness and discovery through self-inquiry that alone-ness brings.

good luck to you too, babe.

stopped off at 42nd street briefly the other day on the way home from work and as i was walking back toward the subway, i was just looking around thinking, jesus, i live here, i really do, this crazy place i've wanted to live since the first time i saw it, new york city, i live here. i'm doing the things i want to do.

i think i forget that sometimes.

i recommend the bronx.

but, that's cause i'm in love with it. i think maybe it's not what you're looking for.

nor do i.

i think it's the word 'electric' that made me think what you want is not the bronx. it's not one of the words that comes to mind for me.

however, it's lovely, and brilliant, and alive, and cheap.

any way about it, do the things you want to do. and if you don't know what they are, just do things, and maybe some of them will be what you want, and either way, it'll be an excellent trip.

I like NYC.

Hm, I also like chickens.

You could be really eccentric and keep a chicken as a pet in a flat in NYC?

you cruel creature, chickens need grass!

plus chickens are noisy, stupid, and smelly. if i'm going to own them, i need to not have to deal with them on a constant basis.

besides, i'm really eccentric anyways.

I suppose the desire to live in both the city and the country is what drives people on to huge lots in the suburbs, or get summer homes in the country, or country folk go on vacation to the city. I think we all want the balance between the idilic country life and the stimulating city life.

the very word "suburbs" makes me shudder.
i'm the kind of person (in case you hadnt noticed, which i'm sure you have) who isn't much for moderation. i think it's always going to be either or.

So then I see you get stuck between the two extremes.

we will all buy land in the country, and a warehouse in the city... in each, there will be a skatepark, bike tools, welding machines, a dark room, organic gardens, hammocks, spirally staircases that lead to spirally slides, murals, a brewery for wine, beer, and soda pop, a solar water heater, bajillions of books, a pirate ship, a dance floor, a jungle gym...

thats how its gonna be. so dont worry bout it.
