I've been thinking

Dec 08, 2007 16:57

I think I will continue with my studies at the open Uni - get a part timejob, or the odd job here and there to make ends meet, because I feel without a degree, I'm starting from scratch again, and at 29 I really don't want to do that!

What does everyone else think?

Sounds like a reasonable plan, yes.

I think it's a great idea. You've been thinking about the degree thing for a while and now sounds like the best time, so make the most of it! Best of luck!

Some practical questions:
What are your career aspirations?
Do you need a degree to get there?
Can you afford to study on a part time wage?
What would make you happy?

I think education is almost always worthwhile, and OU is pretty flexible, so sticking with the degree sounds sensible so long as you can afford it.
Part time job also sounds sensible, although studying and full time work are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Good luck :o)

The OU prospectus is very tempting, and I certainly enjoyed trying a new subject in my own time recently after the regime of uni life. What subjects appeal to you?

Good to see you too! No chance of blethering in that environment, despite all the reunions, but the music was good.

I'd forgotten you are multilingual! I used to share with french and german girls and some days I just couldn't remember the english word for things :-)
