Current Obsessions

I've added a few new obsessions lately, which has surprised me. In an effort to avoid my research and bibliography homework, and just to keep track:

Twilight:
The movie really did it for me, though I did read and enjoy the books, especially Breaking Dawn.

Narnia Prince Caspian:
The hinted at romance between Caspian and Susan is beautiful and sad, precisely because it doesn't exist in the books. Susan in fact doesn't go back to Narnia and seems to have become shallow and vain by the third one. Not this Susan.

Underworld Rise of the Lycans:
I was always intrigued by Lucien's story in the first movie, and I loved Salene's story. But Lucien's is tragic. He loved a vampire, the daughter of the man who would become his greatest enemy, his master. The vampire and the lycan loved each other and created a child together, but Sonja paid the price for her father's prejudice and was executed while Lucien watched. It explains his obsession with destroying the vampires, and makes Salene's journey that much more meaningful. Definitely going to have to do some artwork on this one.

Hmm...what else? I might have to add on to this in a bit...

Older ones...

The Tribe:
This is by far my oldest and most consistent obsession. The story of the children left behind after the adults were all killed by a virus. They create tribes in order to survive, but they still make all the same old mistakes. Amber and Bray's story most captures my interest.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
I was in love with Buffy and Angel, and yes, the tragic aspects of it.  Which is funny, because on the whole I don't like tragedy.  But they both deserved love so much and could never quite have it.

buffy, twilight, underworld, narnia, the tribe
