I was strolling down the memory lane that is my LJ when I came across
this post. I find it grievous and somewhat appalling that there is still such success in hoodwinking and bamboozling a population that I think should know better.

On a similar note, it's been pointed out that when Barack Obama was born, his parents' marriage would have been illegal in 22 states.
You probably already know that the California Supreme Court has agreed to hear three lawsuits against Proposition 8. Let's hope that the court does the right thing, and rule that the rights of the minority can't be messed with by the whims of the majority.

That said, I still find it shameful that in this nation, in this state, with our majority-minority population, that recognition of fundamental rights relies on a few black-robed men and women. Much of the Yes on Prop 8 campaign messages were situations twisted far beyond normal context or outright lies.
And when will my brothers and sisters in Christ learn that separation of church and state benefits the church as well as the state. My religion is not a tool of government propaganda ...

I've been in a Christian marriage for 14 years and counting. Allowing my dear uncles who were together for 45 years before one just passed away in August would not have weakened my marriage -- it would have STRENGTHENED it further. What my uncles gave me the year they took me in -- when my straight, legally married parents could not -- was love. What could be more Christian than that?
