My TV show owns your TV show's ass, and I'm deadly serious

President Josiah Bartlet: Good. I like your show. I like how you call homosexuality an abomination.

Oh you have to see that scene. It'll really add to the effect. Bartlet's cool and collected the whole way through the argument, totally skewering Jacobs and then it's only at the end with the "nobody sits" when the fire in his eyes comes through. It kicks ass.

I love West Wing, but I don't think I've seen this one. I'll have to watch the reruns this summer :) That's brilliant though, I'd love to see Martin Sheen deliver this speech.

I've seen a longer version of this - though I don't think it's from the show - floating around the web somewhere. I thought it was a response to conservative radio host (?) Dr. Laura Schlessinger, but I could be wrong.

I found your journal through the isabelle huppert community; do you mind if I friend you?

It's actually not quite the same, but close: Leviticus Questions, and it is in response to Laura Schlessinger's prejudiced views on homosexuality.

Yeah, I think Sorkin did kinda base it on that woman, merci for the link.

Feel free to friend away, you like Isabelle Huppert and politics: two seriously good reasons for me to friend you. I will just take a second to warn you of my tendency to fangirl an obscene amount, but if you can deal with? Yey. ;D
