Big in '05

Dec 17, 2005 17:09

I think I stole this from Sam, but it could have been someone else.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? Got my bachelor’s degree, wrote for a magazine, became a Godmother

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any…I’m not making “New Year’s resolutions”, but I have this 101 list thingy to work on…

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yup, Samwa and Roxy

4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thank God.

5. What countries did you visit? Just this one

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? A sense of accomplishment; time to relax and enjoy things.

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 2/26/05: Livvy was born, 7/3/05: I got the call about Katie’s accident & visited her in the hospital, 12/17/05: graduated from NMU

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? surviving

9. What was your biggest failure? Letting myself get too stressed out and bogged down to enjoy the time I had left with my friends

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing major

11. What was the best thing you bought? I didn’t really buy anything major…too poor

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Everyone who had to deal with my insanity and kept their patience, especially my Mom.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? mine

14. Where did most of your money go? I have no idea…probably gas and cigs

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I haven’t had the energy to get really, really, really excited. But I probably got most psyched about a) being a Godmom and b) getting advance tickets to HP & the Goblet of Fire…is that sad?

16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Hmm...probly that retarded ass “My Humps” song

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) happier or sadder? I don’t remember that far back

b) thinner or fatter? Fatter, I’m sure

c) richer or poorer? Um…I think I have a bit more money right now, though that will soon change

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Spending time with friends and family, letting them know how much I appreciate them

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Stressing and worrying

20. How will you be spending Christmas? Probably with my family, minus Joe, who has to stay in Washington

21. Did you fall in love in 2005? no

22. How many one-night stands? Ugh…none, thanks

23. What was your favorite TV program? I didn’t get to watch much, but CSI and Law and Order: SVU, and ER when I got the chance… America’s Next Top Model was also scarily addicting.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Not that I can think of…well, maybe Mariah Carey…I used to just kind of dislike her, but her sudden rise in popularity makes my flesh crawl.

25. What was the best book you read? Psh. Read, outside of class? I think I read one new book, and that was Harry Potter 6. (which was excellent)

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Ummm…Michael played a song by this girl band called the Be Good Tanyas the other night that I really dug, does that count?

27. What did you want and get? To get the Hell out of NMU.

28. What did you want and not get? A relationship, among other things.

29. What was your favorite film of this year? Call me sappy, but March of the Penguins was really good. And HP 4 was good too.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Oh, geez. I turned 22, and spent the entire day working and doing homework at the NorthWind office and the library. Finally got home and made myself steak for supper around 10:30 that night.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Being independently wealthy.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? If it’s clean and comfy, wear it.

33. What kept you sane? I really wasn’t, but smoking helped.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I ADORE Christopher Meloni. Yum.

35. What political issue stirred you the most? Ugh…let’s not go there, shall we?

36. Who did you miss? My family and friends.

37. Who was the best new person you met? Livvy. But meeting some of the new people in the NW office was excellent too.  They’re a good bunch.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: Being stressed out all the time and not taking time to take care of yourself or those you love is ridiculous, and makes anything you manage to accomplish seem lessened because of what you had to sacrifice to get it done.
