Icon Help

Can anyone on my flist tell me exactly how to make an icon? I would like to try and do one but have no clue. And remember you are dealing with a complete technical moron, so I beg you to give me step-by-step instructions!

I don't have an icon-making software so I use this great site: Picnick.

It let you upload images you have saved in your computer and then manipulate them as you wish. After you have uploaded your image, click on the "Edit" tab to re-size, crop, or rotate your image. To be able to use icons on LJ, they can't be bigger than 100 X100 in size.

Then go to the "Create" tab to add effect, a border, or text. And finally click on the "Save and Share" tab to save the new made icon to your computer.

You can make icons through Lj too!

Find the pictures you want to use on your computer, upload them to Lj and it should allow you to crop it to size etc. You can't add text or anything.

I had some cute icons made the other day by the wonderful Ms pink_mint, I will email some icons to you. Then you don't have to fiddle with anything you just need to upload them to Lj.
