Hurray! I can finally tell you publicly how much I enjoyed this in the Games. The structure worked extraordinarily well, the little bits and pieces serving to create a lovely overview of the big picture. I loved their letters (especially Sirius' "abuse of the post script") and the way that the reader could see their attraction blooming through their initial words and actions. That was very well-played.
The camping trip, itself, was delightful and, of course, the ending was great. I also really loved this bit:Remus’ prone body is a mirror image of Sirius’, laid out on the stomach, facing the other. Sirius admires the perfect curve of Remus’ nose. He smiles inwardly at how he knows Moony despises his nose, which he would say is only anything but perfect. It has the most endearing, perfect little bump where the bridge of Remus’ reading glasses will sit in twenty years’ time. At that moment Sirius wants nothing more than to reach out and gently trail his finger down Moony’s most perfect nose. He doesn’t, of course, and continues to stare
( ... )
I am so pleased you like it! I was a little unsure about it :P I love that you picked out that bit-- it was one of the first parts of the story I wrote, I absolutely love it too. (I have a thing for noses I think lol.) I love your comments :)
