I think people keep ljs for many different reasons. For me, it's (1) because typing is easier for me than writing, (2) because I find some aspects of a digital journal are better for me than a paper one (e.g. searchability), (3) because it helps me keep in touch with friends from far away (I suppose sometimes this is showing off), (4) for amusement... But like I said, it's different for everyone and the first rule of lj in my opinion is "it's your journal. Do whatever you want to with it." Including delete it.

I hope your trip to India is excellent. Where will you be there? Good luck on the questions of identity.

Hi...
nice to know that someone still reads my LJ from time to time.
I did not get into grad school....
I told you my GREs were average !!
What I don't get is that with all the overseas travel and work I did...they still did not count me in ?
I think that should count more than GREs.
So off to India I go and then I do Plan B =
MFA in Film and Digital Technology in the Fall (unless I have such a good time in India that I never come back !)
Question= Have you been to India ? Last time I went was 15 years ago and I am a little nervous...

I at least scan every person's journal who's on my "friends" list... and now that I'm less stressed out about stuff myself I have a little time to write to others. :-)

Bummer about the GREs! You are right that the other things should count; another friend of mine had a similar problem although for him it was not bad GREs it was bad undergrad grades from a long time ago. But grad school is not the only way to get where you want to be. An MFA is hardly to be sneered at and sounds like an excellent plan B!

I was in India in Boarding School at Kodaikanal International School from 1991 through 1994. I haven't been back since a month or so after I graduated. So my experience there is real but also dated 10+ years. And mostly (although not totally) limited to Tamil Nadu.
Will you be staying with family? I'm sure that would make the experience somewhat different.
