Ron knew his situation with Hermione was precarious. He knew she was mad at him, but to be honest, he was fine with it. He understood why she felt like that, and it was alright; he was mad at himself, too. Still, aside from his anger at his own weakness-horcrux or no horcrux, he should have stayed with them-one fact remained true.
He had found them, and now he was back. Permanently.
The world was still full of the dangers of war. They still had to find the remaining horcruxes and discover a way to destroy them for good. They were still hiding, with little to eat and uncomfortable sleep. Hermione would still be angry with him for a while, but it didn't really matter.
As he stepped behind a curtain to change out of his wet and chilly clothes, yet knowing he was in the same room with his best friends, he was filled with a sense of peace. The fact that the girl with whom he'd be happy to spend the rest of this harrowing journey with-his whole life, too, if he was allowed to-was safe and sleeping nearby, made him feel excited for the first time since he left. Whatever happened now, he would give them his best. With a little luck and a lot of effort, he would also get what he now knew he wanted most... to win her heart.
