I have only eaten ( fair amount of) self-baked chocolate cake and drunk only cinnamon-rooibos tea today. I almost feel as if I should apologize to my poor body but it was heavenly.
Wow! There are several of these that I'm just in love with! The headdress on the single woman standing in 1/3 pose, the little girl seated between the sunlit pillars, and four French children from 1915 with the adorable swords through their belts. All of the photos were wonderful to look at, but these three really caught my eye. Thanks so much for sharing!
I have to agree about the woman with the headdress and the children playing soldier; the youngest kid has a very distinct pose, it seems rather incongruous on such a little person somehow.
I also like the family picnicking by the waterfall, if only because it looks like they're in Yosemite National Park (let it not be said I learned nothing on my field trip there).
I personally really like the last one; I find it kind of charmingly ugly. Very early photo. The Edwardian fashion looks surprisingly tacky and real. From the slightly messy hair to the weird fluffy things on the dress and the tacky shiny threads. It doesn't look costume-drama real, just...like a bad picture of a relative in a weird dress. If you know what I mean.
