Your are dealing with a lot of emotionally draining stuff & going through a tough, exhausting time- your feelings are to be expected given the situation. If you can, pamper yourself a bit(a massage would be ideal, but sometimes you can make due with a special treat!). At least you know your mother's suffering will be over soon. Regardless of the nature of your relationship with her there will still be a hole where she was & it will take a while to adjust. I feel for the poor kid dealing with kidney stones, but somehow it does make it easier to handle when you know what is going on!
Thanks. Actually a massage is pretty much out of the question as I'm very touch-phobic (i don't like being touched) I guess in regards to mom you might be right. Now that a few days have passed I'm feeling a little,... well not hollow but kind of guilty that I'm not as upset as I should be. I know that doesn't make sense at all. I'm very dissociated from the whole situation.
Kid seems to be doing alright. He has moments where the pain really throws him for a loop, but he's more or less handling it well.
