At his first bureau “holiday party” (of course, it wasn’t a Christmas party) Reid found a very tipsy Morgan in a closet with a very naked and equally tipsy agent from narcotics. After squeaking like a small girl, he closed the closet door and ran. Morgan came to work the next day very hung over, and they never, ever mentioned it.

This cycle continued for several years. There would be some sort of festivity, and if there was alcohol Reid would inevitably stumble in on his co-worker, who would invariably be in various states of undress and intoxication. The worst two that he could remember were the first, because that one was the most unexpected, and that time when he and Hotch had been discussing the ban on magic physics in the bullpen (well, he had been protesting and Hotch had been ignoring him) and they walked in on Morgan and Garcia in an abandoned corridor. That one had not been fun. But, it had been a source of blackmail for several months. Against Morgan, that is. The idea of blackmailing Garcia filled Reid with terror.

So it came as a surprise for everyone when Morgan had managed to go a whole party without becoming intoxicated and without even getting so much as a phone number for a whole party. It came as even more of a surprise when he went to go get paper towels from a closet and found a very drunk Reid and the newest girl from counterintelligence making out in the closet. Both were, admittedly, fully dressed, but Morgan made fun of Reid for months afterward, and Reid’s primary source of blackmail dried up. It’s bad form to blackmail someone about something that you’ve been caught doing
