Keeping myself distracted

Nov 10, 2007 07:15

I have decided if Johnny chokes, I shall take the blow swiftly by not paying attention to how the men's long is going until after it is over, at least if I can find sufficient distraction. I think it starts around now. I've eaten breakfast already, but after writing this entry I'll take a shower.

I woke up about halfway through the ladies long, and followed the splatfest on the GoldenSkate thread. At least my favourite won! By the end of it people were speculating about the condition of the ice. Which could hit Johnny psychologically, though on the other hand, he is the one of them who's managed to skate on frozen cornfields(one person speculated Yu-Na might have skated relatively well because she dealt with bad ice growing up in Korea).
Then came the free dance on CCTV5. Loved the Kerrs space age free dance, even if the judges hated it(apparently they made mistakes, but it was honestly hard to tell when I didn't have the whole screen on the feed). Watched Tanith and Ben skate, knew they are at this point in time the best ice dancers in the world and no Russian judges are going to tell me otherwise. Then watched Domnina and Shabalin somehow blow it and score lower then Failla and Scali, though they did remain above them overall(too bad. I'd have liked to see them at the GPF). I am going to have to look at the protocols. Ah well, all's well that ends well. Tanith and Ben are the third locks of the series, the first to win both their events, and two of my favourites have won today. That gives me some hope...
