Hey Jen, it's a voice from the past. Here's my two cents.
There is no absence of fear, perhaps that's not what you were trying to say to do, but the fact is you cannot remove fear. You can overcome fear, you can face fear and you can "not let fear rule you life" but fear remains a constant. In all honesty fear has been a great motivator for me. I was afraid of ending up a pathetic loser like the stoners in highschool, so I didn't do drugs and I worked a little at school. I was afraid of flunking out of kwantlen, So I tried real hard and got through it. And now i'm afraid of not doing well enough at SFU to get into medical school, and I'll be damned if i'm not ready to apply for an honors degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. So I say fear is like a dog, it will only hurt you if you don't train it to do what you want it to do.
