That's a really cool life lesson for a youngun to learn, probably a bit mind blowing, but also the days of having that "job for life" are probably over now, unless you become a dr or something that takes a good 10 years to get set up in...

That's true -- staying with one company (outside of government work) is not nearly as prevalent these days. My point was to show him that you don't have to limit your interests and talents to only your profession. You can be a cop. You can be a photographer. You can be an artist. You can do all of those, or only a couple.
The only limits my kid has are the ones he puts on himself. I'm trying to start early with the reinforcement of the notion that there are no limits.

You left out your to scale drawing skills when you worked at Benteler (can't remember the name of the place exactly)
