Um... Beckett and Co. knew they hadn't arrested everyone at the air hanger so... my bet goes to a bullet proof vest vs an opening sequence involving a hospital. But, that's just me.

I figured bulletproof vest too, but Castle had blood on his hands

Captain Montgomery, I'm going to miss you.

I can't believe they actually shot Kate! I can't wait until September to see how this all breaks down.

*continues to be shocked*

IKR?

I'll miss him too. I liked him. How much do you want to bet that his replacement tries to get rid of Castle, though?

Yeah, they might do that just to stir that pot. Now that Castle and Beckett are becoming level with each other, it's time for outside forces to come into play. Though I will hate if that comes true. (well, maybe not hate, but be disappointed)

I just finished it too.

I knew Montgomery had to be the 3rd cop, and I knew he was going to bite it as soon as he announced his retirement.

And obviously Beckett isn't dead, I wonder how they're going to resolve it. The whole bullet proof vest thing has been done to death, so has the 'rushing them to the er in the season premiere' thing, you know, with the camera pointing straight up and the florescent lights going by.

Maybe they'll do the whole faking her death to draw out a bad guy thing (a la bones), that was fun. Or maybe just a plain old time-jump, you know, cut to her recuperating, almost ready to re-join the force or whatever. And castle has spent the past several months bringing her chicken soup and rubbing her feet.

Whatever the case, I hope she's all emotionally traumatized. But, judging from the titles from the upcoming season, it looks like they'll be back to spunky, although predictable crime-solving in no time.
