I haven't posted in a long, long time. Mostly, because I ahve been so absorbed by LIFE that I have had little time, energy, or space in my life for anything outside the real-life, pay-attention-to-me-now-or-pay-the-price-later logisitcs of being a grown up, i.e.trying to work, pay my bills, balance the relationships that I've been trying to rebuild

Oh I am so happy you and the Bunny have made it work! I am a big goopy romantic and even though I have little of it in my own life I always like seeing other people's romances working out and being positive, happy things for them. You were so happy with him before you went overseas - I'm glad the joy came back!
Yep, I can just bet PC was very life-changing. It's hard to return to NZ when you've had a fairly ordinary life in another country, never mind PC work. For us, we feel we are so far from the rest of the world that travel is almost obligatory. Returning from somewhere like London or NYC to NZ is like landing on Mars. It's familiar but it looks and feels strange for the first time. For me it was the landscape. No high buildings...

Being home is wonderful, but you are right, there is an amount of strangeness and something that feels foreign about being in a place that is so familiar but so...I don't know the word for it. It's like a picture of replica of "home", but doesn;t quite feel it any longer. No like it once did...
