I don't think it's all hit me yet.  I spent so much time preparing for this day, and it's over.

These last weeks have provided me a lot of time for contemplation.  I guess I hadn't really sat down to consider who I am and where my life is headed.  Who is Laurie?  What kind of person is she?  What are her dreams and aspirations?  I can't even answer these questions.  This isn't recent either.  I don't think I've been able to answer those ( Read more... )

Today is December 2, 1985.  Today is my 36th birthday.  Today I pass from young woman to old, and before I know it, I'll be 40.

So what happens now?  Is this the end, or is there another violent road to wander?  What if you're wrong?

Violence, death, despair, blood, guts, gore.  Shattered lives, dreams broken beyond repair.  Nightmares that won't ever go away.  The smell of death that sticks to your skin and never washes off.

I hope it's worth it...

Well sure, what little girl doesn't?  I mean, don't we all want to find true love and have our happy ending?  Maybe it's just a cop-out, maybe it's stupid to some.  But to me it's meaningful, and it's real.  And love at first sight, that's just as real.  Love at second or third sight is probably more frequent in the world today, but I like to think ( Read more... )
