Sleep Apnea

Does anyone know anything about sleep apnea??? My father was diagnosed with it by his physician this morning and I'm curious what the symptoms are. Is there a cure that anyone knows about? From what I've heard over the years, it can be rather serious. He's forced to use an oxygen machine. I haven't seen it yet but it sounds a lot like the machinery

i'm not sure if it's hereditary or not. i don't think so though

Thanks for sharing this with me. I read up on the disorder a little bit and was surprised at how many people are affected by it.

Everything you said makes perfect sense. I'm only living with him for another week so I guess I won't have much time to get used to it. He's a pretty private person so he'd probably prefer it that way. lol

Hey, my dad has it, too. He was diagnosed with it...A couple of months ago, I think? Yeah, it can be serious, but the machine'll help a lot. My dad assures me that I have nothing to worry about. I don't think it's hereditary, but I can't be sure.

My Dad had his first night on the machine last night. He slept with his door closed so when I left this morning I listened closely to make sure he was okay and then promptly left before I started crying. It's all so surreal.
