using coupons

Recently, I've had a few friends ask me why I bother using coupons when I go grocery shopping. My answer? FREE &/or seriously cheap food & household products.
Most of the time, I grab my coupons off of store shelves, but there are also at least three Canadian websites where you can choose from a variety of coupons & have them mailed directly to ( Read more... )

I didn't know this til recently when I saw it on a talk show, but people, especially of a certain generation and some in general, are embarrassed to use coupons because they think there's a stigma attached to it, like people will see them as poor. I never felt that because I grew up in a coupon-cutting family, but I guess if you're not raised that way, it could be an issue ( ... )

What I really like about Walmart & Zellers is that they pricematch. So if you bring in a flyer from another store, they have to match that price. Combine that w/ a coupon & you're doing great. :)

oh yes, and Bureau en Gros does that, too! I actually got the cheaper price, plus I think another 10% off when I showed them a better price at Futureshop (and I hate Futureshop so I didn't want to buy from them anyway)

At the very least, they've almost always got 50¢ off Herbal Essences coupons on save.ca. :)
