And that Marvel clusterfuck is my life.
Word of advice: Don't let a Lizzen talk you into seeing a comic book movie with brother loving angst. (Though I will admit that she did not have to talk me into seeing X-men.)
I loved it except for the things I hated.
The short list of the things I hated:
1. The sexism (unexpected)
2. The sad ending (expected)
3. Azazel's makeup looking like it cost roughly $100 for the an entire movie.
The short list of the things I did loved:
1. James McAvoy
2. James McAvoy (this is not a mistake)
3. Single tears of man pain
I mean, no there were other things I liked. Really. Of course, I loved Fassbender and (as Alex put it) his Jew rage. I loved Banshee for being the Ron Weasley I never would have guessed this movie needed. I liked and appreciated Raven/Mystique journey (except for how she was so desperate for male approval). Everything else I was sort of okay with. I liked the setting, there was some good humor, there were some good costumes. As a origin story for the X-men I liked it a lot. But most of the things I loved involved James McAvoy.
Re: The Bromance. It was beautiful and so tragic. SO TRAGIC. I kind of can't deal with how tragic it is. UGH. THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A WHOLE SUMMER OF LOVE. CHARLES CAN'T FEEL HIS LEGS. THEY NEVER MAKE UP. ::WIBBLES::
I'm loving the schmoopy fan art on tumblr, but I'm terrified of the fic. I need recs.
ALSO I LEARNED HOW TO DO A SALCHOW JUMP AND IT WAS AMAZING.
