Do you have any digital camera advice?

I'm asking for a digital camera for my birthday. I don't want to ask for anything much over $200, so nothing fancy, just functional.

I was just wondering, does anyone know some good brands or models that would fall under that price?

I haven't looked at the market recently but you should be able to find a pretty good one for under $200. I paid $214 for mine about 9 months ago so...

Canon's are my favorite cameras in general, and their not-too-expensive digitals are pretty good. Ask any camera person to see the one kind of modeled after the Rebel X, its a particularly easy and very functional camera. Good luck!

Congrats on the LSE thing. I think you'll quite enjoy it here!

As for digital cameras, a good one to ask for would be either the Canon S400, Canon SD100 or one of the Powershots. The Powershots are generally cheaper than the S400 and SD100. Another great camera is the Fuji A303. It's relatively inexpensive but has good features, particularly the 3.2MP. One thing to remember, though, is what kind of memory each take. A camera may look like a steal of a price, but then you might realise that the memory for it is super expensive thus taking away some of the value.

A great site to check out is: http://www.dpreview.com/

Hope this helps :)
