A fanfic? *gasp*

Feb 06, 2006 00:49

For some odd reason, instead of sleeping as I should (since I have to get up in a little over four hours), I started the bis fic to amayahimura and ended up writing a Kirito/Jun fic instead. (Have no fear! I did manage to write a couple of pages of the bis fic too. XD)

Title: Support of Home
Rating: G probably
Summary: Kirito's solo project has caused Jun to doubt the future of Pierrot.
Warnings: Um...fluffiness, unproofread, implied distaste of KxK
Note: I'm not an author and this is cheesy crap that's composed mainly of the fact that Pierrot's been on break for so long that I can't stand it. If this actually happened to cement the future of Pierrot, I'd be very happy. Any feedback (especially constructive criticism) would be well-appreciated. Posted to jrockyaoi and kiritoxjun, inspired by loucanet_ray's observation that not enough people write KiritoxJun.

“Finally, we’re off break!” Jun cheered, sinking down on Kirito’s couch as the other man tossed him a soda, fresh out of the fridge. “I was beginning to think we’d never start work on a new single. It’s been so long.”

“Less than a year,” Kirito laughed. “Not so long when you think about the ten years we’ve been together, producing song after song. A break is well-deserved once in a while.”

Jun rolled his eyes. “You never take breaks, Kirito. A single, an album, and a tour, all by yourself. Yet another single coming out in March. Didn’t you consider slowing down at all?” He smiled cheekily at the glare the older man gave him. Kirito had never slowed down, not once in all the time he’d know him. Which, when he considered, was a long time.

“Hey, you remember that interview we had…gosh, it seems so long ago. I can’t remember now. The one in which you said that when you met me, you knew we’d be together forever?”

Kirito looked up from the lyrics he was studying. “Yeah, I remember. I bet the fangirls went frantic over that.” He laughed slightly. “I can picture them now - ‘Was he being serious?’ ‘Did he mean friendship or…something more?’ ‘But isn’t he meant to be together forever with Aiji-sama?’ And then there are those dastardly supporters of incest…” He shuddered. “As if I would ever screw my little brother.”

Jun could just picture Kohta’s face when he had first realized that there were supporters of such a horrifying thing. “Don’t worry, I don’t think he’d ever let you. But anyways, at that time, you were telling the truth, right?”

Kirito glanced at him curiously. “You know it’s my policy not to lie. To tease, to omit, to joke, yes, but I try especially not to lie to either friends or fans. Why so curious all of a sudden? As you said, it was a long time ago.”

Jun reached down to pull Kirito’s growing puppy into his arms, serving to both avoid the other man’s eyes and to give his hands something to do. “No reason really. It’s just…well, when we were on break, I started…questioning some things.” He concentrated on smoothing the fur into place on the back of the small animal he held snuggled in his arms and continued, “You know, just…you can succeed without us on your own. You’ve proved that. You’ve always been the backbone of Pierrot, ever since you first formed it to grant my own dream. It wasn’t your dream, not really. So…” He finally looked up, straight into Kirito’s dark brown eyes. “So tell me - are you continuing with the band for my sake, for Kohta’s sake, or for anyone else’s sake? Or is this truly what you want to do?”

Kirito sat perfectly still, fingers frozen where they were curled around the lyrics sheet, relaxed posture stiffened in shock. Jun nervously squeezed the puppy a little too tight and it yelped, struggling out of his hands to leap off the couch and disappear into the kitchen. The silence stretched on for at least a minute more, but it seemed like an hour to Jun - had Kirito just had an epiphany? Was he going to break up the band now? He would support him, of course, just like he had always tried to support Kirito, always the backup, always the best friend, just like he liked it. That was why Jun hadn’t done his own solo career. He liked being the support. He helped Kirito. It was what he did, what he had always done, through good times and bad, since the other man had walked into his bar over a decade before.

Suddenly Kirito was in front of him, next to him, pulling Jun into a bone-crushing hug that suffocated him and at the same time reminded him to breathe. He buried his face into Kirito’s collarbone, ignoring the little worry that always popped up about Kirito being so thin. Now wasn’t the time. Now was just the time to concentrate on Kirito, on being there as he always was. Jun knew that though he was Kirito’s support, Kirito held him up just as often. He needed Kirito, didn’t know how to survive without him. The vocalist supported him by asking for Jun’s support. He needed to be needed.

As he was concentrating on just breathing in the other man’s scent, Jun felt as much as heard the rumble of Kirito’s voice.

“Pierrot was never just your dream. It was our dream, the dream you gave to me when I needed a goal, something to aim towards, some way to find a place in this world. You became my place. Pierrot became my place. There is nothing in the world I love more than our band, created together, bloomed through our determination and hard work and love. Don’t you remember what I said at our last concert together before the break? Maybe I didn’t know the future of Pierrot then. Maybe I did doubt how certain I was of our unity. But I said it then, and I’ll say it again - The one who loves Pierrot the most is me. I love it more than our fans, more than Takeo, Aiji, or Kohta, more than you. Pierrot is the most important part of me. I could no more break it up than walk away from you four, my most important family.” Kirito drew back from Jun to look him in the eyes, and Jun was surprised to see a tear glistening in the corner of one of the vocalist’s eyes. Kirito never cried. He just didn’t.

“Don’t ever doubt that I need Pierrot any less than you. Sure, I succeeded. I created my CD, I went on tour, I expanded a little. But it was lonely, so lonely, that more than once I reached for my cell to call your number and beg to cut your break short. I just held out because while our band is most important to me, I still need to be me once in a while. I want to continue doing things on my own. I think it’s made me stronger.

“But I’ll never be strong enough to survive without Pierrot. And I don’t want to be.”

Jun looked straight into Kirito’s dark brown eyes, the eyes that had looked at him honestly and without any derision when he had confessed his dream of starting a band. The eyes he had fallen in love with when a young man had collapsed on a dirty bar stool and calmly introduced himself. The eyes that had never ceased to support him or ask for his support.

Jun smiled and whispered the words that showed he understood Kirito perfectly - “Welcome home.”

And as their lips met as they had a thousand times before, all of Jun’s fears that had been eating away at him for months fell away, washed clear by the contentment of being where he belonged.
