The general consensus seems to be that they're moles! I'm glad their mama came back for them.

They look like baby mice or rats to me. Then again I'm sure many baby rodents look really similar.

Yeah, it's hard to tell.
We found baby mice once and holy HELL. Cutest goddamn thing EVAR. Their eyes were half the size of their body and so were their ears.

I really think possums. I was just ejumacated about the adult ones recently. The tails are the biggest clue. Mice/rats have pointy noses.

I thought possums at first too. Hmm, but the tails of the little guys you found were much shorter.

Cats do love to kill things! I don't hold it against them unless they eat something that's really cute and/or young, though.
