I slathered two streaks of my hair in bleach (not of the household variety) a couple of weeks ago, hoping for two tiny blonde streaks. As you might expect, they are reddish orange instead ( Read more... )

It was some box of bleach from the drugstore... it just said "maximum blonding" on it. I left it on for an hour, rinsed it out, then left it on for 30 minutes more the next day. Black dye is stubborn!

Thanks! :D This little adventure wasn't half as disastrous as the time I tried to bleach out all of the black and ended up looking like I had a tortoiseshell cat glued to my scalp.

That's adorable! I've heard of kittyloaf but not rabbitloaf.
I had a pet rabbit, but one day he just dropped dead for no apparent reason. I was pissed, because I'd read all kinds of stuff about rabbit care and followed the advice.
Do you think that the one in the pictures is some kind of domestic rabbit? He's a lot bigger than the wild ones that he shares the yard with, and his ears are longer.

Rabbits aren't the hardiest pets. I've always thought they were more work than dogs & cats because of that. They're up there with fucking livestock, depending on the breed. Sometimes they can just kick the bucket for no reason, when they actually die from anything from Septicemia to food/hair impaction(which is super common. I lost 2 of my rabbits to this. One was really young & didn't have a strong enough digestive system to cope & the other was a Jersey Wooley/American Fuzzy Lop mix. OH THE BRUSHING. It didn't help him, though =/). I'll bet your guy died of a food impaction which is nothing to beat yourself up over. Rabbits are incapable of vomiting & generally you don't realize its happening until its too late ( ... )
