Review of Merlin 3x05

Only just seen this ep because I was in London all weekend (btw Wicked = awesome. Lee Mead = not so awesome)

But anyhoos this ep was awesome! So much better than I was expecting, lots of delicious angst and lots and lots of lovely M/A scenes. That forest scene where Merlin tries to heal Arthur was just adorable, as was the fact that he was using clotpole as a sort of pet name :D I also liked that Arthur had his suspicions over the arrow incident, and hopefully he won't just blow it off with Merlin's clearly rubbish excuse (hello, blood on the armour?)

Even the A/G scene wasn't terrible since it lasted all of 2 seconds and Merlin's reaction was could be viewed (through slash-goggles) as slightly ambiguous.

I totally saw Morgana = Uther's daughter coming but it does raise the question of how she and Morgause are related. Surely one of their parents has to have had magic for them to have it so unless Uther's hiding another big secret, are we to assume that Gorlois' wife (Vivian, I think?) was a sorceress?

Everybody acted their asses off in this ep but noone more so than Colin. He does heartbreak oh so well that it sort of makes me want to see more... All in all a pretty damn good episode.

Oh and next week looks awful for A/G scenes. Here's hoping for some M/A ones to make it more bearable!
