So I was "working" just now, and I ran across a gorgeous picture. I figured I'd share it, so you might get a better idea of why I want to go to Greece so badly...

Vaughn's birthday party last night was fun--even the part where I almost got a burning water bottle launched at my rear. Ehh don't ask. I thoroughly enjoyed roasting marshmallows over ( Read more... )

Hey, that looks kinda like this place in Hawaii, 'cept the trees are different, and the rocks aren't segmented like that. My parents used to take me everywhere. Then they went the whole Greece/Italy/Macedonia route and left me at home. I resent them for that. But I still love them, being parents and all.

I have an opinion about Harry Potter (doesn't everybody?) but I feel nasty for having it and not having read any of the books. =/

From what I understand, the author intended to begin it as a child's book series and at the end of the saga it would be an adult book series, which is how it's turned out (death, sex (albeit not mentions but apparantly implied enough), yadda). In My Humble Opinion, if this were the way it was to go, it shouldn't have been marketed to the younger crowd, at least not the crowd it was first marketed too.

Secondly, I don't care how mature the content may be, any book with a cartoonish cover of a little boy on a magic broom is going to be taken, face value, as a kid's book. I suppose this is an ironic point of "don't judge a book by its cover" but it's a rather disturbing way of going about it.

That's just my take on it. It's got rave reviews, so I don't doubt that the story or writing lacks finesse, I just think it's a bit wrong to be selling this to children.

yeah, i noticed ashley singing all those songs too, and that definitely got her a few cool points in my book as well. it feels good being able to like somebody again, it had been a long time.

by the way, i never do too good at saying stuff out loud like normal people, but i wanted to say that i was kind of retarded a little while back and even if you didn't notice, i apologize for it. lately i had been wanting to tell you that i've really got a lot of respect for you, as a person, as a friend and all that junk, and i think you're a damn good writer. yeah, i just wanted to let you know that i think you're a really really cool girl, and that nothing bad should ever happen to you cause i said so. peace out.

hey thanks! that really means a lot coming from you. y'know, i've always regretted not getting to know you better over these last few years. i mean, we've been around each other, but we never really talked... glad we're over that

oh and everybody's retarded once in a while (me a bit more often than most). just part of being human, i guess. so yeah don't give any of that a second thought-- i'm cool, you're cool, we're cool. by the way, your comment totally made my thursday (i would say it made today, but the graham/kate thing already had dibs) i think the writing part is extra-nice because i've been thinking of how talented i think YOU are at writing, so it's cool to hear that. anyway, thanks again and i'll talk to you later~ take it easy
