I think that depends on what you mean by that. Is there any huge philosophical message attached to the movie? i don't think so, but I think adam sandler's character was one of the more interesting and well developed in recent memory, and that is something.
I think you "got it" if you saw it as a realistic love story, where people aren't always polite, smelling good, or otherwise fairytale like. It was somewhat ugly in it's honesty, and that is why it is so good. death to hollywood romances!! In real life and real love, things don't always make sense, add up, or otherwise symbolize people's love. they just are.
and what did you think of that car crash when he found the piano that went completely unaddressed for the rest of the movie?? that was odd, even for this movie.

I think Punch Drunk Love is more of a character piece than anything else, but I liked it; I thought it was really well shot and had some good moments...

maybe i'll give punch drunk love another chance... it just seemed too unresolved for my taste. too murky. i like my movies more clear-cut for the most part. but who knows... maybe i'll get more out of it the second time around
