SoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOooo~
This weekend, you know what I did? I went out with my Mom, and I bought a wedding dress! I know I've been saying I was going to commission a corset and make the rest of the dress, but I tried this one on and fell in love. I had originally made my appointment at Pricilla of Boston just to go see which silhouettes I liked and ( Read more... )

ooo that is beautiful. I'm super critical about wedding dresses as they tend to be like you said 'run-of-the-mill'. But that does look stunning and even better in the person i'm sure. I'm going to be interested to see what you do with the cap sleeves. Have you decided on a colour for your bridesmaids?

Thanks! It really does look so much better in person. For the cap-sleeves, I'm probably going to do something similar to this. Something between a true cap-sleeve and a strap.

As for bridesmaids, I'm really strongly leaning towards making the dresses and having them be an ivory that matches my dress but in a different fabric that doesn't cost soooooo much. XD They would be short so as not to compete with my dress, and I was thinking maybe having minty grean sashes.

That all sounds lovely. esp the mint sashs. And those VM cap/straps are going to be a lovely feature. Making the bridesmaids dresses short is a really good way to not confuse them with the brides dress if they are ivory. I had to stop myself from wearing cream to a wedding recently!

wow im sure its all going to beautiful. Do keep us updated on the progression of the dresses. Its not that im a big romantic softy for weddings in anyway XD, simply that I do quite a bit of weddingdress work for friends so I'm interested in the process. I've just been given a pattern commission for a friend of a friends dress so I'm currently working out a quote for her. fun fun fun.

It looks fantastic. Can't wait to see it on you.

Not having to make it yourself will eliminate so much stress for you. It's a good choice.

Thanks! I think it's way better on me, even in the sample size 6. That girls just looks like she's about to pop out! XD

And yes! I'm actually feeling the relief of the dress being done with already! XD

It really is so much more important than I had realized. Now that the dress is done, it's so much easier thinking about everything else. ^_^

And, thank you! It's even more beautiful in person!

It's lovely! :D I think that style will look gorgeous on you!

I went with the corset design in my dress, and I'm kind of regretting it now, because my style in silhouette's has changed.... but I'm sure once we actually settle on a new date (thanks, moving... again, and again!) I'll just be happy to finally get hitched ;)

BTW caught you in Gothic Beauty this month! Great shot - wish you had written the actual article though.... was kind of lackluster.

Thanks! I'm sure a corset style will look awesome on you... I mean really, you'd look awesome in just about anything. XD

As much as the Gothic Beauty article was kind of lackluster from a lolita perspective, I think it did a good job of informing the general goth population about how things really are with the fashion. I do think the title made the article a bit of a let down... like the article was just fine, but the "The Laws of EGL" didn't seem like an apt title. I suspect the title was not Io's fault though. Hopefully this article will pave the way for other lolita articles though! ^__^

:) I hope so, too! I rather enjoy Io's writings, usually, but you hit the nail on the head - it WAS the title that threw me off for the whole article.
