biking in winter weather

Today I walked to work because I wasn't sure when I would leave nor when the snow would start to fall and although I bike throughout the winter, I tend to avoid riding on snowy and/or icy roads.  I left work as the first snowflakes were falling from the sky and realized I needed to go to the pharmacy - before tomorrow... i used to wear sunglasses a lot to protect from snow/rain/wind. usually the really sporty kind that wrap around the side of your head.
