[Zhaneel is also a fairly early riser, so that sound didn't go unheard by the Keep's resident gryphon. She had taken to sleeping either on the wall walk, or in Aara's room with the angha .. this particular morning it had been a bit of both. She'd been restless early and risen to walk the wall and stretch her wings ..]

I do not know .. The sound arose from the woods, however, and seems to have disturbed a fair number of roosting birds ..

[She's trying to convince herself it was something perfectly mundane and explainable.]

I heard many trees fall while living in the Peligirs .. It sounded similar enough ..
