So what exactly is... "escargot"?

[She totally pronounced that wrong.

Also she feels nauseated, oops.]

[Oh no, she heard.

She's just horrified.]

I... I think I will just.

Not eat anything else for a while.

Escargot is, typically, snails prepared in garlic butter.

[He totally pronounced it all fancy-French like.]

They're a delicacy, actually.

... Perfectly safe to eat. I wouldn't panic.

They certainly are not kosher.

Not sure there's much I can do then.

[He sounds grave, but he's just teasing.]

[Oh, snails? Ezra knows a thing or two about snails.]

Pick small ones. That way you can eat the shell too, and it tastes way better.

[Sorry Mimmi, but Zhaneel isn't quite grasping that you're grossed out here. Instead, she's jumping on the bandwagon with Ezra, her voice upbeat and eager.]

I have not had snails in some time, but Ezra is most correct. I would stick with the smaller ones until you are used to the shells. Not everyone cares muchly for them, but they tend to help with digestion as well as grit. The snails themselves are perfectly delightful!
