Damn Teeth.

Jun 28, 2005 20:11

All 4 of my wisdom teeth are impacted. This means all 4 must be removed.

I've never had surgery before, or been under anesthesia (sp?)... My surgery is the end of August, which means I have 2 months to develop a large dose of unhealthy fear and anxiety over it.

Joy.

I feel your pain.

No, LITERALLY...I feel your pain. =o(

I already had mine removed because they were impacted as well. Worse than childbirth if you ask me!

Good luck in August, and of course good luck with the discomfort up until then!

Don't worry about it. The worse thing about the sleepy shot was actually getting the shot, and even then I got nitrous oxide (laughing gas or whatever people call it) to make me feel fuzzy enough not to care. I had gauze in my mouth and some swelling for a while, but not the huge ordeal some people complain about. Having seen people go through the pain and eventual disfigurement of not having the surgery, I have to say the surgery is the preferable option.

Ok, the worse thing was going to a restaurant and not finding soup on the menu, because that's all I was brave enough to eat the first week after the proceedure, and most restaurants don't offer soup during the summer, which was when I had it done... so stock up beforehand!

Ask your doc to clean up the teeth and give them to you after the surgery..you'll be surprized how big they are!
