I swear to god my child is beginning his preteething stage. He's a bitchy drooling little man and I cannot walk more than 10' away from him or he loses it. He hasn't slept more than 20 minutes in a day and a half and I'm starting to feel a little bit like a zombie. I can only imagine what he is feeling like, poor little guy. Soooo very tired.

I've heard that frozen waffles are a great trick for teething phases. Frozen, child-friendly, no choke (if you don't get blueberry), guaranteed non-toxic and built in drool cups.

You can even buy organic ones, so you can be more certain of that whole "non-toxic" thing.

I hope you both get some sleep soon ;)

those teething pills are supposed to help- who knows what is really in them?

Arthur started that stage around 3 months, but didn't cut his first tooth until 7 months. In between, we found various things that worked - infant Tylenol, Camilia (a homeopathic liquid, found in the section of the drugstore with vitamins and such), squishy chew toys that go in the fridge, giving him a cold washcloth to munch on. Anbesol (or similar numbing agents) only seem to work when you can actually feel the bump of the tooth, but then do help some. We've just started using infant Motrin instead of Tylenol (Arthur's working on his top front teeth now and they're a real bitch!) and it seems to work a lot better, so if I had it to do again, I'd try that too right from the start.

Mostly, though, all you can do is hang in there. There will be stages where it gets better and some where it gets worse, but it won't stay like this steadily until that tooth finally gets here.

Lots of hugs for Eli and his mom :)

kehna already has two bottom teeth. mostly, the infant tylenol seemed to work. the anbesol pissed her off. she's had them for about 3 weeks now...and the drooling has not yet abated...she now wears the big pullover bibs all day!

I hate to say "I hear you", but I really do. It'll pass eventually, but you're going to go through a hell of sleep dep. I wish I could do something for ya.

And "bitchy drooling little man" is hilariously brilliant.
