I've finally finished all my most urgent projects, including the costumes for the Performing Arts Studio show which was on Monday. Today I made a very quick and easy blouse for a client and that has been collected too. Murphy's Law
Don't know who bl**dy Murphy was, but I wish he'd bu**er off!! Excuse the French, but honestly !! A bit of a "spanner in the works" so to speak, DH has been advised to have another back surgery to try to alleviate the numbness and weakness he's been getting in his leg and foot. Catching up
Well, went to Canberra for a 4 day weekend, great fun. Came back to Sydney and straight into setting up and working at Olympic Park at the Embroiderers' Guild 50th Anniversary Exhibition. I'm wearing my Black Belt in Procrastination again!
OMG, I think I need therapy! I'm leaving on a 4 day trip in 2 days, and instead of getting on with packing and completing some urgent sewing for clients, I went to the hairdressers and did some embroidery. Long Weekend plans changed AGAIN.
Just when I was planning a nice relaxing long weekend of events for myself, DH has announced he is probably going to be OK to drive to Canberra for the car rally after all. Every cloud has a silver lining.
It looked like DH would be spending Fathers Day Sept. 2 in hospital as he had me call an ambulance on the Saturday afternoon because he was in such pain after a sudden cough. A bump in the road.
Well, a bit more like a wopping great HOLE really!! DH has had 2 previous surgeries on discs in his back and has had a recurrence of sciatic nerve pain since last weekend. My neck gets quite bad, and I can only imagine how it feels to have severe shooting pain through hip and buttock everytime you move. He is even having trouble lying down, only on ( Read more... ) -

Today has been a "recovery" day. I always need a day or two after finishing a project, I think it's something to do with running on adrenalin while you're working and then the "let down" when it's finally finished. Trying to get motivated to sew.
I should be in the sewing room finishing a bridal outfit due this Saturday, but as we all know, I have a black belt in procrastination. The biggest decision just now is how to finish the seams on the expensive lace overblouse. With no lining, the seams could be bound in lace, or fine ribbon, or even fine tulle.
