keswindhover told me some terrible news this afternoon. valerie_z's sister talula728 has posted that Valerie was hospitalized due to a drug interaction. In the comments she states Valerie was declared dead today ( Read more... )

i've never interacted with her, which is my loss. but i'll always remember Valerie through her "Super Food World," the fic that's left me with the enduring image of Buffy and Spike negotiating emotional detente while shopping for groceries.

Oh my GOD! I'm friends with her on facebook and did not know this. :( I, too, met Valerie and most of my fandom friends on Band of Buggered. She was such a great person, and seemed to be finally in a happier place in her life. I am so saddened by this unexpected news.
