Who Ya Gonna Call?!

Since the Hollywood trend these days is remaking old movies/TV shows, foxywriter and I had the most random convo last night (on the way home from Blockbuster Video) about what would happen if they were to remake the 1984 classic "Ghostbusters." Everyone loves "Ghosbusters," so why not?? Well, we figured if the movie were made today, it would definitely be ( Read more... )

LOL Yes! Well, actually my roommate got the boxed set and we watched them the other night (and laughed hysterically at the horrible animation/voice acting of the 2 animated series episodes that were included on the 2nd DVD. I can't believe I used to love that show *so much*).

Ever notice how the angry face AIM smiley looksjust like Stay Puft when he's getting shot by the proton packs?? It just needs a sailor hat. I always think of him when I see it...

oh my God, i did that too! i watched it and i was like "god, this is like watching sailor moon or something." but the first episode on there did answer my question of why, in the series, they wore those technicolor uniforms instead of their traditional tan ones. i used to play ghostbusters with my friends when i was little (they had all the action figures and the fire house and i was always janine. and when you pressed a button somewhere on her face, her eyes would bug out of her glasses and her tounge would stick out).

you know, i never did notice it before, but now that you mention it, you're right! someone should make a little hat for that guy.

Well, the plotline wasn't bad for the first animated episode - it actually connected the movie to the cartoon quite nicely. It was just the animation that made me crige - how hard did you laugh at that shot of Ray running down the street?! WTC, they must have had a serious low budget because I can't imagine that was cutting edge for 1988. I've seen better technique on He-Man and the Thundecats! And what was up with the soundtrack?! The second episode... Yeah. The less said the better.

LOL I did that with my friends too! I was always Peter; I'm not sure if that was because I was the smartass or because I had a Peter doll. (I'm leaning toward the latter, and purposely forgetting the fact that I had ALL the dolls... ;))

Bustin' makes me feel good! power12252 August 9 2005, 19:32:39 UTC
Oh man! How awesome would that be? They actually were in talks about making a Ghostbusters 3, but Bill Murray kept resisting and it never happened. :( But you're right, they should re-make the original. Here are my picks.

Salma Hayak as Dana Barratt
Jimmy Fallen as Lewis
Rosie O'Donnell as Stay Puft
Vince Vaughn as Walter Peck
Halle Berry as Gozer
Verne Troyer as Slimer

The new theme song, of course written and performed by 50-cent, will be called "I Best Be Bustin' a Cap in Yo' Punk Ghost Ass!"

Oh wow, I didn't even see your icon when I posted that. But now that I do, I can TOTALLY see them as Peter and Dana. They'd make the perfect couple!

Ironic that I just watched this movie last night.

Actually I'm kind of seeing this as a Dreamworks film with help from there cheesey CGI department. Something ala Shrek only with the real actors. Maybe...

Bill Murray as Peter Venkman (sorry - but this just can't change)
Brad Bird (in his live action debut) as Egon Spengler
Antonio Banderez as Winston Zeddemore
Mike Myers as Ray Stanz
Jesica Simpson as Janine Melniz
Adam Sandler as Louis Tully
Michael Chitclas (Sp?) as The Stay Puft Marshmellow Man
Eddie Murphy as Slimer (He's such a great sidekick)

I think your idea may work!

LOL You just put Mike Myers because you know of the legedary love I have for the man! XP I know you like Bill as Peter, he was my favorite character too, but c'mon dude - Chris freaking Rock would be hillarious in the role, if Bill couldn't do it.

Yeah - now that you mention it my entire cast has an attachment to at least one of us. Hey - at least we'll like it! :D

Dude! I got it! Seth Green as Louis Tully! LOL! Can you just see it?

And I still think Lindsey Lohen as Janine as back up, if J-Lo turns it down. Or else the Nanny, Fran Drescher, as she has that New Yhack accent.

ROTFL! Would he be doing his Chris Griffin voice?! Dude, Fran Drescher?! That would be awesome, can you see her giggling like a schoolgirl and trying to be coy?

Spanky as Winston Zeddemore
Captain Hero as Ray Stantz
Foxxy as Janine Melnitz
Wooldoor as Louis Tully
Clara as Dana Barrett
Ling-Ling as Slimer
Fat Toot as the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man
