STOP THE WORLD!

My copyright analysis is DONE! Twenty-six pages. Written in a little over two days. Bow down, for I am the MASTER! XD I would do a victory jig right now if I weren't dangerously close to passing out from exhaustion. Looking forward to sleeping and feeling human again. More later.

victory is mine!, dance monkey dance

I was wondering where you'd gotten to.

You go! Make Copywrite your bitch! :OD

I hope you're feeling better as well, as I heard you were sick last week.

Handing in assignments rock! Except of course, when they get handed back :Oo

Dude, I was sick for two weeks! TWO WEEKS! I had a head-cold and then just when I was getting over that, I got a nasty stomach flu! Which is why I was stuck writing this paper last minute... that and because I'm a no good slacking procrastinator, but I think the sickness trumps that fact. :p But you know what, it doesn't matter, for I have slayed the Copyright Beast!

BTW, have you seen the new FG eps?! OMG, the FCC one is freakin' HILLARIOUS - it's def on my list of favorite episodes ever!!

I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!! And by "Disneyland," I mean "sleep for 13 hours straight and take a brain vacation." XP

GO TL!!!!!!

So that eexplains why you mysteriously appeared online for a few seconds last night. Glad you survived the onslaught. You know - 26 pages in word oughta be long enough for an animated short - you think Brad might be interested??? I'd be really intrigued to see what he could do with it. ;)

Ha ha, I don't think even BRAD could make my paper seem interesting! Plus, Brad only seems to be interested in making movies that involve a giant robot. No giant robots in my paper. :(

But on the plus side I now know all there is to know about fan fiction's legality. My paper analyzed whether fan fiction infringed upon a copyright-holder's exclusive rights as an unauthorized production of copyrighted material and production of a derivative work under §106 of the Copyright Act (specifcly whether a fictional character can be copyrighted outside of a primary copyrighted work), and then I argued that even if fan fiction is an infringement it should fall under the §107 "fair use" exceptions because it is noncommercial, transformative, and does not create a substantial adverse effect on the market for the primary copyrighted work nor possible official derivative works. Plus it forwards the policy goals of copyright law in general. Has your head exploded yet???

Actually - having just studdied a crap load of media law for my new position as News Eitor of The Florida Standard - that made alot of sense. Perhaps I could read the whole paper some time. :D

Heh, I'm surprised you made it 'til midnight. Props to not procrasting until the night before -- I is so proud of you!

My jig will be danced this eve, after work and cleaning the apt, when I can relish the concept of a week off from work. I WUV the holiday season and being a teacher then!

Yeah, why the heck didn't I just crash when I got home? OH, that's right, you and your icon links kept me up!! And thoughts of Paul from the Diamond Center and his circa 1985 advertisments. XD

You also love being a teacher because of that fun stuff that's going on right now with the union, right? :P Y'know, we should plan the DL trip this weekend.

Y'know, from now on we should begin each transmission with "Mama Bear to Papa Bear" and vice versa.... It makes it feel like we're talking through a walkie-talkie!

You want some of my pills?? Okay, here have some. I think the main chemical is estrogen, but that's okay... you won't have to shave for a month! But yeah, that paper was a bitch. 2 days researching, 2.5 days writing it. It's probably a bucket of crap in the eyes of my professor, but at this point, I DON'T CARE! I haven't slept for 2 days and I'm just glad to have that paper out of my hair!

Calling Mama Bear. Attention Mama Bear. This is Papa Bear. Bravo Charlie five zero niner. Do you copy? Over.

I'm sure you did a great job. It sure sounds like you know your stuff. I had no doubt about that. I'm just impressed with your cat-like speed. I don't think I could type 26 pages about a subject I ENJOY in that amount of time, especially when I am not feeling great. My hat's off to ya, kiddo. Now go sleep for a day or two.

Hopefully you'll be stickin' around here now. This place ain't the same without ya. What's that? You have exams in a few weeks? THOSE BASTARDS!! It's a damn conspiracy!

BTW, you change your LJ format more than I change my underwear. I never know what to expect! XD
