very very good answer, sadly the opposite happens to much these days...
well from what i have observed people think it's an excuse to puff up their ego since they are 'in a band'.. that's all the wrong reasons for doing music.. even if your music sells well there's no reason to be a dick.
Amen to that, thats the whole reason, the way I see it, there are so much new bands atm. just to be able to say i'm in a band (don't get me wrong there are some new bands that are really on to something). and what do they produce much more of the same or something that seems to be something to the untrained ear... after a break from this scene for 4 months this became so obvious to me that I'm really asking myself why do I keep on doing this crap?, what will it ever bring? me being a drummer I could get much more of a kick out of drumming a metal or a rock gig but something keeps me here, and I'm for one just hoping that that's the thing I'm looking for....
Oh man, it would be awesome if you got to Japan for a show. If you could get here you could almost certainly play in Nagoya and Osaka as well as Tokyo, they all have scenes. I would gladly put you in touch with promoters in all those places and help with translation. Considering how Tokyo Dark Castle is apparently willing to spend thousands of dollars for a one-off show by some dumb US goth rock outfit, they could easily have you play and kill the place. Considering the response my homegirl Ana from Despair gets at lives here, you would go over really well.
Plus I haven't seen you face-to-face since what, Seattle? 7 years to the day?
That would be fantastic. I dunno if I could survive the flight over at this point. I am so sick of airplanes and airports but I think it would be worth it (THINK? ... erm. i mean i KNOW).. don't care about money.. just coverage of travel and a place to rest my pretty little head ;)

Do you want me to start emailing promoters here and ask if they're interested? When could this conceivably happen?
