You have to write what speaks to you. If that's not industrial anymore then you have to go where your artistic soul tells you.

People's tastes change and artificially restricting yourself to one set genre is dumb.

I think it is admirable that you are following your heart, and not letting yourself be defined by genres, the subcultures, or the expectations which follow a certain style of music composition. I have lots and lots of respect for fellow musicians and artists who listen to their hearts and create art based on what moves them.
