Dear friends who, like me, are into For Better or for Worse, and who used to think Elizabeth was awesome until she decided to suddenly turn super-gorgeous and super-lame and get back together with Anthony for the most-rushed wedding in comic history ( Read more... )

When you say 'my friend' do you mean you know her? Because I think she might be my hero and has been since I found out about her stuff. And you seem like the type of person to randomly know awesome people like that.

I totally do! We both used to write for this other website (thedailyblitz.org) and we both lived in Victoria so we would hang out playing billiards and watching other people play guitar hero and blethering and stuff. I have photographic proof.

Beaton was my hero because she could bike in a skirt.

I also went to high school with Ryan North. I am the hub for web-comic geekery.

Good god I hate you.
Tell her I think I am madly in love with her brain but I am too much in awe of a person who writes comics like this one

to ever say anything directly because they would simply be better than me in any possible measurable way.

Just kidding. Kinda.

I can't help feeling FBoFW has been going down hill since her husband left her. Suddenly we get all the comics with John behaving badly and everyone else starts wandering into happily ever after.

I still read it out of habit.

That's exactly why I read it! Every morning, on the internet, because I have since first year.

Even though most mornings, I just end up getting angry.

I wish she could have written that into the comic. It would have been a lot more relevant, honest, and touching had she actually tackled what was going on in her life instead of ignoring it and turning the strip into what she evidently wishes was going on. She could have even still done the flashbacks, since many of them are reflections on John's early-80s dickery.

"Let's move to the suburbs and talk in puns."

OK, I think that was my favorite line :).
