Happy New Year!

Don't forget to eat lucky food!!

I'm eating black-eyed peas for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner (and adding the collard greens for dinner.) I have no corn bread, though. I may have to go door to door until I find a neighbor that will share cornbread with me. ;)

My Dad is making black eyed peas, ham and collard greens, non of which I like and I refused to come for dinner. The cornbread was made last night, I don't even really like cornbread. Most people are suprised that I grew up in the south. I don't like most southern food and don't have an accent at all. I will eat anything deep fried. :)

Well I'm just a tourist myself (only been in the south for a few years). My dad is from Florida and has always made black-eyed peas and ham on New Year's Day (while the rest of us ate tamales). We used to make fun of him, but now I think he may have been right! :P

Well at least the bacon might bring you luck! :P

Here's way more than anyone wants to know about the black-eyed peas tradition. (I find this stuff very interesting.)
