$20 Challenge - Day Three

Aug 12, 2009 23:49

No post for yesterday because I spent a total of $0!
I should've taken a pic of my free lunch-yummy homemade spaghetti with braised lamb shank sauce (and extra cheese hehehe)-but alas, I forgot. So here's today instead.

Honeydew Milk Tea

Purchased from the food court at Market City. Considerably cheaper than Easyway, especially since I'm not so fond of pearls! I was craving iced coffee, but ended up with this due to the oh so slight difference in price. I'm cheap, so sue me! Not that you'll squeeze any pennies out of me... hahaha Okay, I'm lame. I retract that. But yes, apologies for dodgy picture. I was with friends and was thirsty and yes... maybe this will make it up to you.

Ready for your surprise?

Chocolate Souffle

I picked up the latest issue of UTS' student run magazine, Vertigo, and perused it for goodness during my Finance lecture. Lo and behold this month's cheap recipe (hey, we're students!) was chocolate souffle! So, I decided to attempt to make it, knowing I had all the ingredients at hand. Unfortunately it didn't rise epically like Gordon Ramsay's, but it tasted alright and didn't fall until after 5 or so minutes, which according to wiki means success. Plus on showing the boy both photos, he says mine is better 'coz Ramsay's looks like a brick, whereas mine look like scones... I don't know how he equated that, but who cares? Scones = yummy!

Anyways, my question to you guys is whether you'd like me to post the recipe? It would be a slightly modified version as I wasn't completely happy with it, so it would definitely be better. Also, as far as souffles go, this seemed a pretty simple version, so yes? No?

Lastly, tomorrow is ice cream date day. Hitting Passionflower, hoping to make the Town Hall store to make use of the $8 special while it lasts (until 21st of August, I believe). However, there's a time constraint so maybe we'll only make it to the special-less Capitol... but the boy will probably insist to pay although I think that's entirely unfair! ♥
