Rrr someone should pound it into their heads that this is the internet. Our physical bodies (which, yeah, sometimes are a huge burden in real life) should not have to be applied but they're forcing us to disclose what we have in our pants by making it a mandatory field to fill out. The fact that I happen to have a vagina is none of their business.

I'm replying to the journal with this but I know it won't do any good:

I was one of the first to hear about this issue when it came up, and I still plan on leaving the site within the next couple days because of how terribly it was handled. I know that there are a large group of people who aren't as aware of the gender issues as others and I'm glad everyone's educating themselves on the matter, but this isn't a resolution

I KNOW RIGHT. They've added an "other" option now, but they've also clarified that the field is defined as "sex" rather than "gender."
